Are you a rural and regional woman who wants to make difference in her family, business or community?
The Queensland Murray-Darling Committee (QMDC) is offering 15 rural women the chance to boost their leadership skills, build their knowledge of climate change and learn how to deal with the challenges facing their communities, businesses and family.
QMDC Training Coordinator Sandy Robertson said the residential workshop series was a unique chance to explore change in regional communities, climate change, understanding personality, leadership, social and economic issues in NRM, community engagement and much more.
“This course is designed for women who want to make a difference but who need some help taking the first step,” Ms Robertson said.
“Time is running out to register for this innovative workshop series with highly respected speakers including: Flippen Profile Coach Fiona Cameron, leading community development practitioner Jim Cavaye, business expert Cindy Tonkin and Building Rural Leaders presenter Rob Nielsen.
“The Champions of Change program will not only provide participants with leadership and community engagement skills to help deal with a changing climate but also the skills to drive change and overcome challenges faced by their families, businesses and communities.”
Ms Robertson said the two-part residential workshop series was excellent value for money at just $800, including all meals, accommodation and workshop supplies.
Workshop one runs from Tuesday, October 27 to Thursday, October 29 and the second from Tuesday, November 24 to Thursday, November 26. A childcare subsidy will be available upon application. Contact QMDC for more details.
This project is supported by funding from the Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry under its Australia's Farming Future initiative.
