·         A successful release of endangered eastern bristlebirds last year, has lead to a habitat management strategy involving Condamine Alliance.
·         Condamine Alliance was disappointed to see Bowenville environmental vandalism. Acts of vandalism had included:
o        stealing newly planted native trees (more than 800 planted, less than 200 remain);
o        burning large trees that were stockpiled for re-snagging (important habitat for wildlife);
o        set lines being left in the creek (illegal fishing activity);
o        burning, cutting and removal of bollards set in place to keep vehicles off important riparian zones (to reduce sediment runoff to river and provide an important food source for small wildlife and fish at water's edge);
o        littering (damaging to wildlife); and,
o        destruction of ground cover by irresponsible driving.
·         Terrain NRM is seeking to recruit two new directors.
·         Water Mimosa is the worst kind of weed in Queensland and six Biosecurity Queensland officers and nine Logan City Council officers will begin a search mission this month in the Logan area.
·         A new study on Barramundi will help scientists examine how good the inshore zoning of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority is at protecting the species.
